Culture
Lane Middle School is not just a building; it is a community of individuals who believe that kids can, regardless of gaps or deficiencies. Rich in diversity, Lane represents every race, numerous ethnic groups and a variety of languages. Our staff and programs aim to advance the purpose, passion and grit of our students, fostering professionalism in everything we do and they do.
Every year, we introduce a theme to our staff and students. This year, the theme is G.R.I.T.: Guts, Resilience, Integrity and Tenacity. This theme serves as the foundation for our transformative process, encouraging growth in all areas of our students' educational journey. It reflects our teachers' commitment to following the curriculum, investing in collaborative systems and utilizing data to inform instructional practices. Most importantly, it highlights our school's culture and community, focusing on overcoming challenges, problem-solving and engaging with one another in positive and productive ways.
Key Components of G.R.I.T.
Grit isn’t something you either have or don’t have—it's like sweat. It’s created the moment you show up and get to work.
You can choose to move back toward safety or forward toward growth. Growth must be chosen repeatedly; fear must be overcome again and again.
Built, not bought!
Hustle, not handed!
Earned, not given!
